Meon Valley Hampshire – an area of outstanding natural beauty within a couple of hours cycling distance at a slow/moderate pace of my home.
Trails
The South Downs Way, Monarch’s Way, Pilgrim’s Trail and Wayfarer’s Walk are long distance trails / walks through the Meon Valley
The Meon Valley Trail
Once a railway line running from Fareham to Alton. The Meon Valley Trail runs from Wickham to West Meon and has recently been ‘graded’ to allow easy access by walkers, cyclists and horse riders
Cycling
There are a few challenging climbs for cyclists, particularly Old Winchester Hill from Warnford, Beacon Hill from Exton and the short (ish) climb up Butser Hill by Harvesting Lane
The county town of Hampshire is Winchester, the former capital city of England
This is a long term project to photograph the Meon Valley Hampshire through the seasons mainly using a bicycle for transport! Click on any thumbnail below to view the pictures in a gallery
