Floodlit gate practice at Gosport BMX Club track
Started with shutter priority and rear curtain flash, 1/4 second exposure, F5.6, ISO 800 but disapointed with the results though my timing did get better.
Switching to manual gave better results (don’t know why), finally the best were with shutter speeds of 1/3 or 1/4 second with the ISO either 800 or 1600.
Only cropped one photo (marginally) with some adjustment to the shadows and highlights to compensate for the lighter track surface.
I have a few ideas to try for the next floodlit gate practice.
First capture with the timing nearly right. Shutter priority
Timing nearly right, shutter speed slightly too fast.
Getting better with the timing. Shutter priority
Still improving on the timing. Dissapointed with the sharpness of the rider. Shutter priority.
